Title: Drifting Through Emotions
Artist Statement:
These images come from my own moments where clouds, water, mountains, and open paths stirred something in me. Nature has mirrored my inner world. A calm sky can steady me; a storm can echo what I’m holding inside. Our emotions shift just as landscapes do, sometimes gently, sometimes suddenly.
Drifting Through Emotions is a collage built from personal photographs and personal feelings. Each frame represents a different emotional state, a different stage of healing, and a different way I’ve learned to move through the world. Together, they trace how I drift between clarity and uncertainty, stillness and intensity, and how each shift shapes who I’m becoming
Title: Being the Art
Artist Statement:
In a dimly lit gallery, the boundary between viewer and artwork begins to blur. Standing among paintings and sculptures, you can feel yourself blending into the atmosphere. In this moment, my friend isn’t just looking at the art; they’re in conversation with it, appreciating its beauty and presence.
Being the Art captures the subtle connection between a human and a painting: how we project ourselves into what we see, and how the artwork, in turn, reflects something back. This piece explores the idea that viewing art is never passive; it’s an exchange, a moment where we become part of the work simply by engaging with it.

Title: Branching out
Artist Statement:
The path I set for myself once felt narrow, defined by expectations. As a chemistry student with minors in math and physics, I spent years moving in straight lines, such as being focused and determined but confined. Trying new things, like joining a dragon boat club, reminded me that life expands when I do.
Branching Out reflects that moment of breaking free from a self‑imposed path. The branching form symbolizes possibility, growth, and the courage to explore directions I never planned for. This piece is a reminder that stepping outside the familiar isn’t losing focus.
Title: Lying Cow
Artist Statement:
Rest is one of the simplest needs in life, yet it’s often the first thing I forget. Work, commitments, and social interactions pull me forward until I lose track. Rest isn’t optional as it’s the foundation that allows me to function, think, and feel fully.
Lying Cow captures the quiet moment when the body finally gives in and settles. The stillness of the cow reflects the pause I often deny myself, a reminder that slowing down is not weakness but renewal. This piece invites viewers to honour their own need for rest and to recognize the strength in stopping.
Title: Craving For a Sushi Taco
Artist Statement:
Food is more than flavour; it’s emotion, colour, and memory. Vibrant ingredients spark a craving the moment they meet the eye, pulling me toward joy and curiosity. Eating fuels my day, grounding me and helping me feel whole, yet I often forget how deeply it shapes my mental space.
Craving for a Sushi Taco captures the playful collision of textures and colours, reminding me that nourishment can be both physical and emotional. This piece celebrates the small, vivid pleasures that keep me moving forward.
